The Book
Loved Unconditionally
A Spiritual Memoir of Trauma, Addiction Recovery, and Finding God Beyond Religion

Why Read The Book
FOR EVERY SEARCHING SOUL
This is not a book for one type of person. It is a book for every human being who has ever felt too broken, too ashamed, or too far outside the lines to be loved by God. If you are the veteran who came home broken. The addict who has tried to get sober more times than you can count. The abuse survivor. The LGBTQ+ person told God doesn't accept you. The one whose faith was weaponized against you. The one lying awake, wondering if your life has any meaning at all—this book was written for you.
A TRANSFORMATION YOU CAN TRUST
Loved Unconditionally is raw and unflinching. It doesn't offer easy answers or curated inspiration. Instead, it traces a real transformation from trauma and addiction to an encounter with a God who required nothing and loved unconditionally. This is not a theory. This is not someone else's story. This is a life nearly destroyed by shame, rebuilt by grace—and proof that healing is possible for you too.
A PROMISE OF HOPE
If you choose this path—slowly, honestly, imperfectly—your life may begin to feel different. Not easier, necessarily. But truer. Pain may still visit, but it will no longer define you. And you will find, as Fenix did, that God was never far away. He was simply waiting for you to turn toward Him.
"There are books that teach you something. And then there are books that change you. Loved Unconditionally is the second kind.
What you are about to read is not theory. It is not curated inspiration. It is truth. And truth, when spoken bravely, is medicine."
— Dr. Forbes Riley, Author and Executive Coach
The Story
At fourteen, Fenix Shepard left home with nothing but wounds no child should carry. What followed was a freefall: drug abuse, sexual abuse, self-harm, and a loneliness so deep it felt bottomless. She looked for love in every broken place she could find and came up empty every time.
Then one night, out of options and out of hope, she asked God the questions she had been terrified to ask. Why am I so sick? Why did you make me gay just to condemn me? Why don't you love me? She expected silence. She got something else entirely. God did not send her to a church. He came to her. Personally. Relentlessly.
Loved Unconditionally traces that journey from wreckage to wholeness. It is about encountering a God who required nothing from her, excluded no part of her, and had never stopped looking for her. This is a book about the kind of love that cannot be earned, voted on, or taken away. Not necessarily about religion. About something far more real.
But this is not only a queer story. It is a human one. It is for the veteran who came home broken and couldn't find their way back. For the addict who still believes they're too far gone. For the daughter whose father made her feel like a mistake before she was old enough to know what that meant. For the survivor who gave everything to a marriage and still lost it all. For anyone who has ever wondered whether God forgot about them—or worse, whether He never cared.
This book is your answer.
